Crash in Coral Springs required helicopter for injured victim

An accident in Coral Springs, Florida left numerous people injured and at least one of them was injured seriously enough that helicopter assistance was required. The accident itself is shrouded in mystery, as there are practically no details. We don't know how many vehicles were involved and we don't know how many victims there are. But at least one person was airlifted to a hospital via the aforementioned helicopter and "several" others were injured.

A video in the source article for this post show at least three vehicles at the scene and two of them were heavily damaged. It looks like it may have happened at an intersection, but it is unclear if that is true at least based on the information we can decipher from the video.

There are a couple of points to make here. The first is that serious injuries in a car accident can dramatically change a person's life, possibly forever. They could suffer traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, paralysis, physical deformities, or even fatal injuries. If these injuries occurred because one of the drivers in the accident was drunk, or distracted, or speeding -- in other words, if they were reckless and negligent -- then they should be held accountable for what the pain and suffering that they have caused.

The other point here is that if you are at an intersection, you need to be paying attention regardless of whether you are a driver, a pedestrian, or a bicyclist. Accidents happen frequently at intersections, and being as safe as possible is the only way to protect yourself.
