Many injured in 2-vehicle wreck that involved swerving vehicle

While the following crash didn't occur in Florida, it is an important reminder of how car accidents, even relatively simple ones that involve only two cars, can leave many people injured and throw numerous lives into chaos.

The wreck in question involved two vehicles, and they were traveling in opposite directions. One of the vehicles started drifting into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason. It caused a van that was carrying prison inmates to swerve to avoid it. Unfortunately, a wreck could not be avoided and the two vehicles ended up colliding. The aftermath of the crash can be seen in our source article, which shows the heavily damaged frames of the vehicles. This was a violent accident.

One person suffered life-threatening injuries, while two others suffered serious injuries that were determined to be non-life threatening. At least five other people suffered injuries in the wreck. It is under investigation.

First of all, this is a terrible accident. Many people will suffer in the short and long term as a result of the crash. Permanent injuries may have been inflicted here. The driver that suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic will certainly have a lot to answer for, and while it does not appear that drugs or alcohol was involved in the crash, this is also a common starting point.

Which brings us to the second point: negligent driving is unacceptable. Whether a driver was fatigued while behind the wheel of a vehicle, or intoxicated, or just not paying attention, it is unacceptable to be in such a state of mind while driving.
