Cars dart out of the way as wrong-way driver causes mayhem

A woman who was under the influence of alcohol drove down the wrong lanes of State Road 826 before finally coming to a stop near the ramp for Interstate 395. Amazingly, the woman never crashed into other vehicles as she traveled eastbound in the westbound lanes. However, four vehicles did crash in an effort to avoid the wrong-way driver. One person suffered injuries and had to be taken to a hospital, but thankfully no one was seriously injured in the bizarre incident.

The 24-year-old woman who caused this chaos is under arrest and faces a bevy of charges including driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

There are a couple of things to take away from this story, and the first is that the truly bizarre can occur out on the road. You would never think that someone would be so out of it that they would drive on the wrong side of a busy road for an extended period of time, making a handful of cars dodge them in complete chaos. When it does happen, that at-fault driver deserves to be held responsible for his or her actions.

The other aspect here is the victims of such a wreck. They will be confused, angry and seeking justice after such a confounding and seemingly inexplicable crash. They could seek justice in the form of a civil lawsuit that seeks to recoup damages and compensation from the at-fault driver for the harm they caused.
